Checking image limits and keeping a fresh download

Choose the input and output

Start with a file that fits the supported range. The input must be 10 MiB or smaller and no more than 20 megapixels. Output dimensions can be set from 1 to 4096 pixels. A file extension alone does not prove the actual format. Corrupt bytes, SVG, GIF, and unknown formats are rejected. If you need to try again after a rejected file, select a new file under Choose an image, then choose Convert again.

A worked example

Suppose you have a 9.5 MiB JPEG photo that is 5000 by 3800 pixels. This is under 10 MiB, but 5000 times 3800 equals 19 megapixels, so it is within the input megapixel limit. You set the output width to 2000 and the height to 1520, keeping the same aspect ratio. Both output dimensions are inside the allowed 1–4096 range. Run the conversion and then open the preview to confirm the result looks correct before downloading.

Check the downloaded file

After conversion, check the preview, MIME type, dimensions, and size before saving. Then use the Download button. Do not assume that an older valid result is the current file. Changing the input or export settings invalidates the previous download. Convert again before downloading the updated result. Compare the file name, size, and dimensions with the settings you just used.

Limits and common mistakes

PNG export is lossless for the resulting pixels; the lossy quality buttons apply to JPEG and WebP. If you convert an image with alpha transparency to JPEG, the transparent area becomes white. Files are processed locally, so there is no cloud backup or account. Closing the page or reloading means you must select the file again. The tool does not scan files for malware.
